5th Anniversary Gala Dinner Raises over £100,000!

We are delighted to announce that the Nicki’s Smile 5th Anniversary Gala Dinner raised over £100,000.

Over 200 people attended the event at Sopwell House on Sunday 20th November 2016, which featured renowned broadcaster Nicholas Owen and magician Richard Jones, winner of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent.

After the event Dan Blake, Chair of Nicki’s Smile, said, “The fundraising dinner was a phenomenal success. Pancreatic cancer is nicknamed the silent cancer as it is so difficult to diagnose at an early stage. Nicki’s Smile was set up in order to break this silence and I am delighted we raised over £100,000 on the night to help us fund pioneering early diagnosis research.

Nicki’s Smile has now raised over £600,000 since inception and funded two pioneering research projects. The funds raised at our 5th Anniversary Gala Dinner will enable us to finance further studies and help us achieve our aim of improving pancreatic cancer’s awful survival statistics.”

Magician Richard Jones, during his live performance, filmed a ‘Nicki’s Smile Mannequin Challenge’ which you can see by clicking here. You can share this on social media using #Nicki5 @NickiSmile.

Nicholas Owen commented, “Pancreatic Cancer’s awful survival statistics have remained virtually unchanged in over a generation. I am delighted to be associated with such a worthy cause.  I really hope that the money raised by Nicki’s Smile will prevent other families suffering the same pain as Nicki Blake’s loved ones.”

Our ground-breaking research simply could not happen without this phenomenal support.

We are truly grateful.
